January transfer window; What do Everton need?

Everton currently sit 17th in the Premier League table, being only a point above the drop zone. So what does Frank Lampard’s side need to assure Premier League football will be played next season for the final time at Goodison Park, ahead of the club’s move to Bramley Moore?

The toffees lost their main man, Richarlison in the summer transfer window, the Brazilian was the club’s top scorer on 3 of the 4 campaigns he was on Merseyside, before leaving for Tottenham in a £60M deal. Since, Everton have brought in Neal Maupay, from Brighton and Dwight McNeil, from Burnley. The 2 new signings haven’t produced enough threat in front of goal to replace Richarlison and therefore the blues find themselves severely lacking goals, registering the joint 2nd lowest amount of goals in the league this season.

It can be strongly argued Everton need to bring in multiple forwards this winter. Reports come from Belgium, Everton are monitoring Club Brugge winger Noa Lang, who has scored 23 goals, playing 67 in the Jupiler Pro League.

Everton announced on Friday evening the club have terminated Venezuelan striker, Salomón Rondon’s contract, who struggled to perform since signing for the club in summer 2021. With only 1 fit senior striker available at the club, this would hint Everton are confident in bringing in a striker.

Fabrizio Romano, the highly regarded Italian Journalist claims Everton are amongst 4 clubs interested in Atletico Madrid and Brazil striker, Matheus Cunha, who holds a market value of €20M.

Whoever Everton land this upcoming window it needs to be a man who can stay fit and fire the toffees up the table into a team who can starting scoring and picking up some desperately needed points.
