Everton set to sign Ajax midfielder

Updated: Dec 18, 2022

Everton look set to complete the club's sixth summer signing, with Ajax and Ghana midfielder, Mohammed Kudus on the verge of joining the club; on a season loan, with a view to buy next summer, as per Paul Joyce.

The Ghana international made 16 appearances for the Dutch club last campaign, playing in an attacking midfield role, as a 'number 10' in the new Manchester United manager, Erik Ten Hag's side.

The 22 year old is highly rated amongst the Ajax fanbase, being thought of as an extremely talented player; with passing and dribbling being the strengths to his game, along with tackling. However, he is on the hunt for more game time, after featuring for just 7 minutes in the opening two games, despite being Ajax's shining light in Pre-season.

However, Kudus' injury record is not pretty. The Eredivisie winner has missed 41 games through injury over the past two years, Frank Lampard's staff would have a task of keeping the midfielder fit.

Overall, it seems a solid, low risk signing from the toffees and would almost confirm Dele Alli's departure for Besiktas.

Tom Marshall.
