Report:

Armando Broja's impressive breakthrough season in the Premier League at Southampton has undoubtedly raised eyebrows, with numerous clubs such as West Ham and Everton reportedly keen in gaining his services permanently. The Albanian scored 9 goals for Southampton in all competitions during his loan spell with the Saints, and while that number may appear poor to some, it does not represent the complete picture for Armando Broja.

The 6ft3 centre forward has a brilliant work ethic for a big man. He does not put himself first and doesn’t only focus on scoring goals. Broja will fight for every ball without leaving

anything for granted. Furthermore, the young Albanian in addition to superb physicality, also contains excellent speed and he has that injection of pace that can worry any defender. This allows him to be a very dangerous striker for defenders to face as they will be constantly contemplating how to control him. If you go touch-tight, Broja has the physicality to pin the defender and bring other players into the game, however if you back off and give him space he can turn sharply and run at you with power.

Moreover, managers across the world would find having Armando Broja in their team to be a joy to have as he enables you to play in the attacking phase in various different ways.

When the team is pressing high, Broja’s off the ball movement allows the team to elevate the two flanks because of his exceptional ball protection. This would allow the team to be very dangerous from the wide areas because if the team put dangerous crosses into the box, he will most likely win the aerial duel. On the other hand, if the team is on the back foot and under pressure, Broja has the required skill set to play on the counterattack as he has the qualities such as speed, strength and also great footwork to attack the opposition

dangerously and quickly.

Would Armando Broja be a suitable signing for Everton?

There are many different factors that need to be considered when deciding this outcome, his price and how he would fit into a specific system.

Everton were always bound to be linked with Chelsea players coming into the summer

transfer window due to the obvious Frank Lampard connection. Frank Lampard gave

Armando Broja his Chelsea debut ironically against the toffees in the 4-0 thrashing at

Stamford Bridge in 2020, therefore Lampard clearly thinks highly of the player. Now in 2022

it has been reported by a number of different sources and outlets that Everton are going to make a move for the Albanian. It has been reported that Chelsea will be looking for a fee of around £30,000,000 for Broja and in my opinion, I believe that that this is a fair price for him because of the talent that he has at such a young age and there still is plenty of more room

for improvement. However, should Everton be spending £30,000,000 for Broja when we

already have Dominic Calvert Lewin?

If we sign Armando Broja, I believe Lampard will have to change his system to a 5-3-2 or a 3-5-2 to accommodate both Calvert-Lewin and Broja. I believe they would complement each other effectively if they played together in this system because they have distinct talents. Broja, in my opinion, outperforms Calvert-Lewin in terms of moving the ball forward and charging at defenders. Calvert-Lewin, on the other hand, is more of a threat in the box.
